“Set in sunny Seville, the opera follows Count Almaviva as he tries to win the heart of the clever young Rosina, who is kept under lock and key by her jealous guardian, Dr. Bartolo. With the help of Figaro—the city’s famously resourceful barber—Almaviva dons a series of disguises, including a poor student and a music teacher, to get close to her. As plots collide and tempers flare, Figaro’s quick thinking outpaces Bartolo’s plans to marry Rosina himself. In the end, wit, music, and love triumph, proving that ingenuity and good humor are the sharpest tools of all.”
