Dinner and a Diva: Tosca

Dinner and a Diva: Tosca

Join Capitol City Opera Company on Tuesday, September 21st or Thursday September 23rd, for a night of delicious food and stellar performances from Puccini’s Tosca. Your four-course dinner includes hors d’ oeuvres, fresh salad, choice of two gourmet entrees, decadent dessert, coffee/tea, and two glasses of fine wine, all for only $65 per person (tax included; gratuity separate). Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar open at 6:15 p.m., and the dinner and show start promptly at 7:00 p.m. Call 404-634-6268 for reservations.

“Set in Rome at the time of Napoleon’s invasion of Italy, Tosca is a roller coaster story of love, lust, murder and political intrigue. With Puccini‘s richly romantic score, it is one of the world’s most loved operas. A tragic story of passion and jealousy, it tells the story of the tempestuous opera singer Floria Tosca, as she fights to save her lover Cavaradossi from the sadistic police chief Scarpia.”

Performing for you this month at Dinner and a Diva: Tosca are Hila Brod-Isseks as Tosca, Gus Godbee as Scarpia, and Nathan Munson as Cavaradossi. Accompanying the performers on piano is Grant Jones.

In the year 2021, Madison Grace Shelby, an average high school student, has been assigned to do a big report on life one hundred years ago: the 1920s. Faced with a lot of work, she does what any teenager would do: she procrastinates. It's all part of her process.

When she's good and ready to start her report, she pulls out her phone and uses a special Time Traveling App to zap herself back to 1920! She's now a first-hand witness to prohibition, flappers, gangsters, and...MURDER?  Uh-oh!

History is being altered because someone from 2021 is visiting 1920! Can she fix the past, find a killer, and get enough information for her report before her phone battery dies?
