dinner and a diva: La boheme


Our November Dinner and a Diva series is SOLD OUT. For those of you already joining us, you will hear highlights from one of the most popular operas ever written--Giacomo Puccini’s masterpiece La bohème. First performed on February 1, 1896 at Teatro Regio, Turin, it was conducted by a young Aturo Toscanini. Fifty years later, Toscanini conducted a radio performance of La bohème with the NBC Symphony Orchestra. The 1946 performance was eventually released on vinyl record and compact disc, making it the only recording of a Puccini opera by its original conductor.

La bohème’s music and storyline never fail to pull at your heartstrings. Set in a snowy Paris, it's the story of love in its greatest form, as six young, penniless artists who are full of idealism come face-to-face with the harsh realities of life. Some may remember that the Broadway musical Rent is loosely based on La bohème’s story line. And music from this timeless classic was used in the 1987 American romantic comedy film, Moonstruck.  

We look forward to seeing you for a great fixed-price evening meal and highlights from La bohème sung by Rachel Eve Holmes, soprano; Julia Metry, soprano; Timothy Tolar, tenor; Jadrian Tarver, baritone; and Ivan Segovia, bass-baritone; and accompanied by the Company’s music director and pianist, Catherine Giel. It promises to be a great evening! 

The dinner includes hors d’ oeuvres, salad, choice of two entrees, dessert, coffee/tea, and two glasses of wine, for only $60 per person (tax included; gratuity separate). The performers from theCapitol City Opera Company sing between each course. The evening begins at 6:15 p.m.  with a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres reception; dinner and performance start promptly at 7 p.m. Reservations are required at 404-634-6268.

Thanksgiving special holiday menu

Join us on Thanksgiving, November 23, for a special four-course menu. We'll be serving the holiday menu, which features your choice of each a savory soup, fresh salad, gourmet entree and decadent dessert, from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. We'll also offer up a perfectly portioned children's menu that includes choice of soup or salad; an entree choice of turkey and all the trimmings, spaghetti and meat sauce, or chicken tenders; and choice of dessert. The four-course meal costs just $39.95 for adults, and the kids' menu is just $9.95 per person. Reservations are requested. View the entire menu here.

The Thanksgiving menu begins with a choice of hearty Turkey Gumbo full of veggies, okra and rice, or Creamy Potato Puree soup topped with bacon and cheddar cheese. Then is a choice of Autumn Mixed Greens Salad loaded with craisins, grape tomatoes, pecans, garlic croutons and chevre cheese or Iceberg Wedge Salad topped with tomato, bacon, cheddar cheese and gorgonzola dressing.

Entrée selections include: Filet of Beef Wellington in puff pastry with mashed potatoes and asparagus; Roast Leg of Lamb accompanied by mashed potatoes, broccoli, sweet glazed carrots and mint jelly; Shrimp Scampi served over rice pilaf and topped with herb garlic butter; Grilled Salmon served over rice pilaf and topped with basil butter, or the traditional Roast Turkey with Giblet Gravy dinner which is complemented by sweet potato soufflé, cranberry sauce and steamed broccoli.

Dessert choices include: Strawberries a la Romanoff served with vanilla ice cream; Chocolate & Vanilla Mousse Swirl topped with whipped cream; award-winning New Orleans Chocolate Bread Pudding topped with a buttery whiskey sauce, chopped pecans and whipped cream; and Thanksgiving favorites Pumpkin or Pecan Pie topped with whipped cream. 

The kid’s menu includes a soup or salad plus a choice of roast turkey plate with all the trimmings or spaghetti and meat sauce or fried chicken tenders plate. Kids’ dessert choices are pie, chocolate mousse or ice cream.

To allow our staff some time off to enjoy the holidays with their family and friends, we will be closed on Christmas Eve (all day), Sunday, December 24th, and Christmas, Monday, December 25th. Scratch cuisine food truck

Our Scratch Cuisine Food Truck will bring mobile food to the masses! Our made-to-order, fresh entrees usually range in price from $7-$12 and include items like Angus Bacon Cheddar Burgers, Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches, Risotto Fritters with Chevre Cheese, Pork Carnitas Tacos with Arbol Sauce, Black Forest Sandwiches, Club Paninis, Caprese Salads, Charcuterie and Cheese, Cobb Salads, and more.

Dinner and a Diva

Every third Tuesday of the month (with some additional dates), we host our popular dining event series Dinner and a Diva. This special evening includes a multi-course dinner served with wine and accompanied by entertainment from the Capitol City Opera company. Each month features works from a different composer.

Enjoy some complimentary, light live music, during dinner with us, Wednesdays through Saturdays, from 6:30 till 8:30p.m. 

The acclaimed Brazilian Gypsy Guitarist Ednaldo Queiroz will be performing for us every Wednesday. 

On Thursdays, we have an acoustic duo featuring Berne Poliakoff on vocals and Dan Coy on guitar.

Fridays, join us for a swinging soirée with the Dan Coy Trio. Jazz guitar master, Dan Coy, leads a unique, acoustic instrumental group which specializes in Parisian-style jazz standards, Django Reinhardt songs, romantic ballads, and waltzes. The accordion, guitar & bass trio authentically reproduces the ambiance of a French bistro for your dining experience. Let the music transport you and bon appétit!

Saturday night it's the solo stylings of Berne Poliakoff accompanied by her guitar. Enjoy this live music with dinner and drinks in the dining room or sips and snacks at the bar. There's something for everyone, and we welcome requests!
